“boroboro“: something tattered or repaired

This was a brilliant topic for Members’ Day, since it’s a technique that’s accessible to everyone, beginners and experienced stitchers alike. Over 30 members turned out on a really cold, foggy morning, including some of our very new members (some new to stitching, too), and had a go at slow stitching with a purpose.

We had lots of samples on display, books to refer to and a big bag of fabric pieces to dip into (courtesy of Judi). Such a relaxed atmosphere, because there was no stress over ‘getting it right’ – there are no rules to Boro, and all day to stitch and chat.

There was the option to create a small panel to turn into a bag or pouch, or to carry on with a piece already started. (Most people decided against bringing an item of clothing to repair!)
