Bullion Knot
This stitch can be used in many ways and gives texture. Try using it for flower petals or buds, lichen, insect bodies, pebbles, etc. It reminds me of caterpillars and maggots as it has rings along its length.
Vary it by using cast-on stitch or double cast-on stitch.
