For this month’s stitch challenge Lucy has very kindly provided not just photos, but detailed instructions for each step of blanket stitch.

Bring up needle at A
Go in at B, then up at C, making sure the needle is pulled up through the loop of thread. Then repeat … |
To finish, J: make a small stitch to the right; K: pull thread through to the back.
You can vary the size and length of each stitch. In the image below, a variety of threads has been used to attach this piece of work to a hoop, and further rows of blanket stitch have been added.
