It’s always a delight to attend a workshop given by Angie – she is such an entertaining tutor, who shares a great deal of expertise in a very modest and accessible way. No wonder her workshops are fully subscribed!
The inspiration for ‘Vanishing Worlds’ comes from “gardens that were once tamed, but struggle and often succeed in becoming wild … Imagining these gardens in shadowy moonlit illumination.”
To interpret this idea, the workshop explored the use of transfer printed felt, using leaves as resist, heat transferred foils and layered organza, free machine embroidery and cords made by stitching on soluble fabric. It was full on and great fun – we covered a lot of techniques that can be applied not just to this theme, but in other contexts.
