Our third AGM on Saturday 21st was very well attended. We learned that we have had another successful year, financially and creatively, and we will be keeping the membership fee at £45 for 2024/25. Workshop fees will increase from September 2025 to £30 for members, in order to cover increased fees and travel costs for tutors.
We’re looking forward to another exciting year of talks, workshops and members’ days, exhibiting at Compton Verney Textile Fair, Christmas Tree Festival, and we hope to continue the mid-month ‘Stitch & Chat’ sessions. (All details on the Warwickshire Stitchers calendar.)
Compton Verney Textile Fair, 8 – 10 November (3 days this year), is a great opportunity for us to exhibit our work and to spread the word about Warwickshire Stitchers. Members who were not at the AGM will shortly receive further details of arrangements for displaying work and stewarding our exhibition.
The fun part of the day was after lunch, when we embarked on making our Scandi-style decorations for the Leamington Christmas Tree Festival at All Saints Parish Church, 9 – 17 December – a change of venue for us this year.
Thanks to all the work and effort put in by Judi and Wendy, who did the research and produced lovely samples, we made a start on cutting out felt baubles and dala horses. The colour scheme will be restricted to red and white, with some silver/grey threads if wanted, and folk art stitch designs.
