Members’ Day: Boro Mending
21 January 2023 @ 10:00 AM - 4:00 PM
Boro mending has been used in Japan for centuries. If a kimono was damaged in any way then a scrap of fabric would be used to patch it. It would be covered in tiny stitches to hold it in place and strengthen it.
Today, boro is used in a more decorative way- sometimes to mend holes, but often to add a detail or a bit of colour. It enables you to be free from any rules and slow stitch in a completely mindful way. Very relaxing, and you can still chat and catch up.
Members: please see Members’ area for requirements list.
If you prefer not to slow stitch using boro, then bring something you are working on and enjoy the company.
Please email: dayschool@warwickshirestitchers.org.uk if you are attending, so that we have ample chairs and tables set up.
